Alvin S. Hochberg

Practiced 1948-2010

Alvin Hochberg joined the practice in the late 1940’s and was an active member of the firm for six decades. Mr. Hochberg attended New York University, School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance, and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1948. He served as Captain and pilot of a B-25 in the U.S. Air Force from 1942-1945, flying 54 missions in the South Pacific. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1948, and was a member of the Boston, Massachusetts, and American Bar Associations for over 60 years.

 

Mr. Hochberg was a long standing Member of the Board of Governors of the American Jewish Committee; former Chairman, New England Region, American Jewish Committee; former Massachusetts Commissioner of Aeronautics; former Director, Massachusetts Mental Health Research Corporation; former Vice Chairman, Newton Democratic City Committee; former Director, League School of Boston.

 

His skills were wide ranging and he considered himself a general practitioner, though his primary areas of practice were tax, trusts and estates law, real estate, and general business practice. He represented many individuals and families, served as trustee of numerous trusts and as corporate director of several companies, including one on the American Stock Exchange.
