Since 1928, our Boston-based practice has provided estate, trust, and tax planning services for individuals and families, as well as general legal services for a variety of small businesses and non-profit organizations. Our firm also provides tax advice and tax return preparation for individuals, trusts, estates, and other entities.

Our Services

Our Services
Estate
Planning

We assess the personal and financial goals of the client, analyze the impact of tax laws on those goals and prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, charitable trusts, and other documents to implement those goals.

Estate
Administration

We provide all the necessary services from the probate of wills and administration of estate accounts to the preparation and filing of Federal and state estate tax returns.

Trust
Administration

We work with independent investment advisors to manage numerous trust accounts, which are individually invested to maximize the benefits for trust beneficiaries while adhering to each trust's objectives and applicable law.

Taxation &
Tax Planning

We advise individuals and businesses on income, gift, and estate tax planning and represent clients before the IRS and Massachusetts Department of Revenue. We prepare tax returns for individual, fiduciary, estate, corporate, partnership, and non-profit clients.

Real
Estate

We represent buyers and sellers of residential and commercial properties. We advise and represent clients in landlord-tenant matters, including residential and commercial leasing, tax deferred exchanges (also known as IRC Sec. 1031 exchanges) and real estate tax abatements.

Corporate &
Business Law

We advise clients on general business matters, including corporate formation. We help our business clients address legal issues that arise in the normal course of running a business. For clients with a closely-held or family business, our attorneys work with our tax and estate planning staff to achieve both the business and personal objectives of the client.

Intellectual
Property

We help clients develop intellectual property, register trademarks and copyrights, and acquire and transfer rights. We also represent clients as licensors and licensees in contract negotiations and in the litigation of intellectual property disputes in federal court.

Non-Profit
Entity Law

We prepare the underlying documents that establish and govern non-profit organizations, including applications to the IRS to achieve tax exempt non-profit status. We provide ongoing counsel, assist with the filing of state and federal tax returns, and maintain corporate records.
